Privacy Policy for Instrument Voice Control

Instrument Voice Control (IVC) is an Android application for controlling test and measurement instruments using voice commands and SCPI commands over a local network.

This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is handled.

  1. Information the app accesses

Microphone audio

Instrument Voice Control requests microphone access so it can recognize spoken commands.

Speech recognition is processed locally on the device. The app does not upload microphone audio to our servers.

Network instrument information

The app allows the user to enter or select an instrument IP address and port. This information is used only to connect to the selected instrument over the local network.

The app may store previously connected instruments locally on the device to make reconnection easier.

Command and diagnostic information

The app may show recognized speech, parsed commands, generated SCPI commands, and connection status inside the app. This information is used for troubleshooting and command review.

The app does not automatically send this diagnostic information to us. If the user chooses to contact support, the user may manually share this information.

The app uses microphone audio to convert speech into instrument commands.

The app uses IP address and port information to send SCPI commands to instruments selected by the user.

The app uses locally stored instrument information to show previously connected instruments.

  1. Data sharing

Instrument Voice Control does not sell personal data.

Instrument Voice Control does not upload microphone recordings, recognized speech, instrument IP addresses, or SCPI commands to our servers.

If future Pro purchase functionality is enabled, purchases will be processed by Google Play Billing. Google may process purchase and account information according to Google’s own policies.

  1. Data storage and retention

Previously connected instrument information may be stored locally on the device.

Diagnostic information is shown inside the app and is not automatically transmitted.

The user can remove app data by clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app from Android settings.

  1. Security

The app is designed to process speech recognition locally on the device.

Network commands are sent only to the IP address and port selected by the user. Users should use the app only on trusted local networks and with instruments they are authorized to control.

  1. Children

Instrument Voice Control is intended for engineers, technicians, students, and other users working with test and measurement instruments. It is not directed to children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
